SynSel Aligns with 701 Strategies for North Dakota Initiatives
February 11th, 2025
SynSel is pleased to announce a strategic partnership with 701 Strategies to advance AI data center initiatives in North Dakota. This collaboration strengthens SynSel’s commitment to integrating green fuels into the AI-driven energy sector by leveraging North Dakota’s stranded natural gas for sustainable power generation.
A Unique Energy Opportunity in North Dakota: As part of its expansion into the AI data center industry, SynSel has identified North Dakota as a prime location due to its abundant stranded natural gas, which can be efficiently converted into electricity to power AI data centers. The long-term vision is to transition these facilities to “green diesel”—a renewable fuel produced by SynSel.
Strategic Partnership with 701 Strategies to capitalize on this opportunity, SynSel has partnered with 701 Strategies, a full-service consulting firm specializing in lobbying, strategic engagement, nonprofit management, and policy development. Scott Meske, Principal of 701 Strategies, brings extensive expertise in economic development, advocacy, and business strategy to the initiative.
Scott has a distinguished background in business leadership, having previously directed a 24-member Board of Directors and a team of nine at one of North Dakota’s leading business organizations. His experience includes developing strategic programs, increasing investment returns for business members, and serving as an advocacy leader at local, state, and federal levels. Before that, he led an 11-member Board of Directors for a 550-member Chamber of Commerce, where he played a key role in stakeholder engagement and national media relations.
Building a Sustainable Energy Infrastructure Scott will work closely with John Dickert, SynSel EVP Government Liaison, to establish a network of railroad nodes transporting biomass from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Northern Wisconsin, and Minnesota to a biomass-to-diesel facility in North Dakota. This facility will produce green diesel fuel to support the region’s AI data center operations, ensuring a sustainable and resilient energy infrastructure.
Leadership & Expertise, Scott’s credentials include:
• U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute of Management (IOM) Certification
(2011)
• Certified Association Executive (CAE) Certification (2010) • B.A. in Political Science & Public Administration from UW-La Crosse • U.S. Army Officer Basic Course in Management & Leadership
SynSel is excited to collaborate with 701 Strategies and leverage this partnership to drive innovation, sustainability, and economic growth in North Dakota’s AI and green fuel industries.
